After the chaos of Black Friday and Cyber Monday comes “GivingTuesday”, a global day of giving with the goal of bringing change to communities across the world. GivingTuesday happens annually on the Tuesday after Black Friday and marks the opening day of the giving season, a time for charities, companies and individuals to come together to support important causes.
Participation comes in a wide variety of forms, from employee engagement and fundraisers, to volunteering, food drives and more. Each year, the TPH Charitable Office organizes a company-wide initiative during the holiday season as a way give back to communities across the country. Each of the regions in which the company operates supports a different cause that’s close to home, and employees and customers of the Branches in these locations come together to fundraise and donate to those in need.
Here are some of the causes TPH will be supporting in 2017:
Region | Charity or Cause |
Alliston | The Good Shepherd Food Bank |
Brampton | Food Harvest |
Hamilton, Burlington & Oakville | St. Matthew’s House & Kerr Street Mission |
Mississauga | The Open Door |
Niagara | Community Care |
Nova Scotia | Homebridge Youth Society & Nova Scotia Food Bank |
Ottawa | The Shoe Box Project & The Shoe Box for Men Project |
Toronto | Adopt a Family – Fife House |
Vancouver | Shaun G Foundation |
Whitby | The Regional Municipality of Durham, Social Services Department Durham |

The holidays are a time to spread joy to others, and GivingTuesday is the perfect reminder that by coming together through causes that unite us, we can truly make a difference.
