Canada 150 Road Trip – Stop 4: GTA (Mississauga)

The Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is the fourth stop on our Canada 150 Road Trip! We’re featuring a different Canadian region each month of the campaign, giving our customers the chance to win a $250 Flight Centre gift card in each destination. Learn more about the contest and see our road trip schedule.

TPH Branch 61 in Mississauga is the third featured location for our GTA trip stop! Read more about their fantastic staff, recommendations for exploring the area, and what they love about Canada.

An up-and-coming tourist area, Mississauga (also known by residents as ‘Sauga) is best known for Square One Shopping Centre and its previous mayor, Hazel McCallion. During the summer season, look out for Streetville’s Bread and Honey festival in June, and be sure to visit Jack Darling and Centennial Park for great picnic spots!

Branch Number: 61

How long has your branch been serving the Mississauga community?

This location has been serving this region since 2011.

What makes the team special at your branch?

The team at Branch 61 works well together for a smaller location. We coordinate well and have an understanding of each other, even without constant communication. If anyone ever requires assistance, expect someone to have your back.

What do you love most about Mississauga?

We take pride in knowing we are home to the OHL Mississauga Steelheads We also love the convenience and that we can easily shop at one of the largest malls in Canada after hopping onto the very nearby major highway 401.

This branch has a great location being the centre point to other TPH Mississauga/Brampton branches as we all work closely together.

If I had one day in Mississauga, what should I see and do?

During the summer days, festivals take place all over this city and they’re very diverse. Craving ribs? Head over to the countless number of rib fests. In need of a spiffy new outfit or some delicious eats? Spend a day at Square One mall. We’ll take you on a tour of the city that will have you coming back!

How does Canada inspire you?

As we border Toronto, Brampton and Oakville, we appreciate all the different cultures that we can encounter from our friends to even our customers. Canada is such a large nation yet when we think of our own community, we’re inspired to explore different eateries, tastes, dances and environments. Ranging from the touristic “Village on the Lake” (Port Credit area) for festivals and marina to the restaurants in and around Mississauga, we tend to search for these similarities across the country.

How does working for a Canadian company inspire you?

With The Printing House being in business for more than 50+ years, it’s safe to say something is being done right! For all of us, we appreciate supporting any Canadian business, especially one that we believe truly takes pride in their workmanship and initiatives. Branch 061 strongly enforces recycling initiatives and have more respect knowing we are employed by one of Canada’s Greenest Employers for this year.

We love the work culture that the company has amongst the branches, knowing that we all work together and are inclusive in every way! TPH is truly an interconnected community amongst all of the locations.

  1. The team in Mississauga is great! Just one error in your article, the Streetsville Bread and Honey Festival is the first weekend in June each year. Not in the Fall.

    1. Thanks so much for pointing this out, Tanya! Our apologies for the mistake. We’ve updated the post with the correct information 🙂
