The Printing House: Our Year in Review

One of our favourite parts of starting a new year is reflecting back on the previous year and seeing all that was accomplished! 2016 was full of many exciting milestones, as well as new initiatives for TPH. Thank you to everyone who worked with us this past year and for providing us the opportunity to help your business shine! We’re ready to take on all that 2017 has to offer with a positive outlook and excitement for what’s to come.

Here are some highlights from our 2016:

We celebrated our 55th anniversary!

TPH celebrated its 55th year in 2016, originally founded way back on December 1st, 1961 by CEO Earle O’Born! Today, TPH proudly boasts 70+ company owned locations across the county and has been recognized as a leader and innovator in the printing industry. The company remains 100% Canadian owned and operated and has always been committed to investing in leading edge technologies to meet the demands of our customers. We can’t wait to see what’s in store for the next 55 years!

We were named Canada’s most sustainable & forest friendly printer!

We believe that doing the right thing is good for business. That’s why we’ve always been passionate about making environmentally conscious choices when it comes to paper, the planet, people and the partnerships we pursue. As a result of our environmental efforts, we were named Canada’s #1 most sustainable and forest friendly printer (#2 in North America) in Canopy’s 2016 Blueline Report.

Had a year of green victories

In addition to our designation as Canada’s most sustainable printer, we celebrated a number of other small victories for the planet through our own environmental initiatives. As part of our partnership with WWF-Canada, we participated in the annual CN Tower Climb, took the Smart Office Challenge at our Head Office, and hosted a Shoreline Cleanup at the Toronto islands!

Our 3D selfies took the spotlight

It was quite a year for our 3D printed #3DSelfies which were featured on a number of major media outlets, including Trend Hunter and The Huffington Post! These lifelike figurines are the next iteration of the selfie – what better way to capture a memory than in 3D form? As the 3D printing industry continues to grow, we’re excited to work with companies on new and innovative projects – if you can imagine it, we can make it!

We started a hive hosting project & adopted honeybees

In the summer of 2016, we announced that we would be participating in a Corporate Hive Hosting partnership with Toronto Bee Rescue. Our Head Office became home to six honeybee hives, turning our roof into a hub for local pollination! With the cold weather settling in, we were able to harvest honey from our bees, which are now wrapped up for the winter.

We sponsored & participated in tons of amazing events across the country

We had the opportunity to work with some amazing companies and partners this year, sponsoring and participating in events across Canada! Highlights from 2016 included our involvement in the CIBC Run for the Cure in support of CBCF, the Coldest Night of the Year walk for homelessness, Doors Open TO, and Furniture Bank’s Chair Affair to name a few.

2016 was a huge year for us and we can’t wait to work with you in 2017!
