WWF Pandamonium Highlights

WWF Pandamonium

On Thursday, June 23, 2016, WWF-Canada hosted its inaugural Pandamonium party and fundraiser. The “Doom & Bloom” themed event was an exciting night of science, nature, music, art, food and fashion, in support of WWF-Canada’s conservation goals and initiatives. As a proud partner of WWF-Canada, we were very excited to attend this event and to take part in the awesome experiences it had to offer. Here were some of our favourite highlights from our night:

Sustainable Culinary Creations

Among some of the most memorable moments of the night were the unique food experiences provided, including impressive liquid nitrogen displays, the jellyfish snack bar and an appearance from celebrity chef Claudio Aprile. The jellyfish snack bar, created by Chef Haan Palcu-Chang, featured a mouthwatering take on the marine creatures, which are currently growing in population while other ocean species are on the decline.

For MasterChef Canada fans, Chef Claudio Aprile (MasterChef judge and restaurateur) was in attendance, serving up delicious hors d’oeuvres. Chef Claudio even created the dishes his creations were served on – t-shirts hit with a dose of liquid nitrogen to resemble a frozen ocean!

Interactive Experiences

In addition to the wide array of enticing foods, guests were treated to fun photo booths and interactive digital displays by multimedia entertainment studio Moment Factory. Guests were also invited to participate in the “Arctic Home augmented reality experience” presented by WWF and Coca-Cola, which used lifelike graphics and a digital screen to create a surreal and immersive experience with a polar bear and her two cubs.

Sonic the owl also made quite the impression, the star of the night’s interactive wildlife encounter!

Live Performances

To get attendees in the party spirit, live musical performances included an electrifying operatic duet as well as DJ Brendan Canning of Broken Social Scene spinning on the ones and twos. Finishing off the night, Juno Award-winning Toronto folk rockers, The Strumbellas gave an exciting performance that really got the crowd moving!

We had a blast at this year’s Pandamonium and hope this will be the first of many in years to come!
