We’re excited to announce that The Printing House 3D will be participating in this year’s Doors Open Toronto, May 28 & 29, 2016! Doors Open Toronto, presented by Great Gulf is one of the city’s most popular free events, annually attracting more than 200,000 visits to more than 130 locations across the city. This weekend gives us all a chance to come together to share a common sense of hospitality and pride in the beautiful buildings and creative people that are the lifeblood of this spectacular city!
The Printing House 3D
Our 3D print location at 66 Wellington St W, Unit E004 in the TD Centre will be opening its doors for the event, providing tours of our state of the art facility, an inside look at 3D printing technology, and the opportunity to speak with industry experts. Ever wondered how 3D printing can be used to develop exciting new products and prototypes, or how the technology can be applied to your own life? This is your chance to explore the dynamic possibilities of 3D printing with hands-on examples and live demonstrations. Visitors will also have access to our brand new 3D Selfie studio, where we can create lifelike mini replicas of you, your friends, and your loved ones!
The theme of this year’s event is ‘Re-used, Re-visited and Revised’, which explores the adaptive repurposing of buildings throughout Toronto’s architectural history. Fitting with this theme, TPH 3D is sponsoring “Timelapse Toronto”, a fun, visual public engagement activity that will take place at City Hall! Participants will be able to prioritize the physical and social infrastructure they would personally like to see added in the future to the intensifying downtown area. 3D models of some of Toronto’s most iconic structures, printed by TPH, will be featured. Visitors can vote for which building they most want to see re-used, re-visited and revised.
Doors Open Toronto gives us a chance to celebrate ourselves – our buildings, our heritage, and our architecture. It is Canada’s largest Doors Open event and one of three largest Doors Open events in the world. We hope to see you there!
