TPH is celebrating 55 years of excellence in 2016! We can hardly believe all that’s happened over the past five and a half decades, from seeing the company’s expansion to 70 locations nationwide, to the evolution of technology over the years. In celebration of our anniversary, we thought we’d share a bit about our company history:
It all began in the late 1950’s, when TPH CEO Earle O’Born began his career as a journeyman typesetter. In 1961, at the age of 22, he purchased an old letterpress shop in downtown Toronto for $500 and The Printing House was born. A second branch was opened in 1965, and by the end of the ‘60s, the company had expanded to 12 branches across the city. The ‘70s brought further expansion, with locations opening in Vancouver, Ottawa, Calgary, Halifax and Dartmouth. In 1985, The Printing House became one of the only printing companies in Canada to have a separate charitable wing. The TPH Charitable Office supports registered Canadian charities with an emphasis on providing aid in health care and education, especially for women and children in Canada.
Today, TPH proudly boasts 70 company owned locations across the country and has been recognized as a leader and innovator in the printing industry. The company’s success is the result of an unwavering commitment to investing in leading edge and emerging technologies, as well as outstanding people who are experts at what they do! We’ve continuously met the changing needs of our customers by adapting to the marketplace and providing new and innovative products and services – recent services include 3D design, scanning, and printing.
Despite all of the changes that have happened over the years, we’ve never faltered over our company’s mission to make our customers happy. You’ll always be able to count on TPH to provide exceptional service and to deliver high quality solutions with speed and accuracy. Thank you to all of our loyal customers for your continued support. It’s been an amazing 55 years and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for the next 55!
