On Saturday, January 30th, the Alzheimer Society of Toronto hosted the Walk for Memories to end Alzheimer’s. The 2.2km indoor walk in the underground PATH of downtown Toronto hosted over 1,500 individuals who have been touched by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.
The Printing House was honoured to be an Official Sponsor of this fundraiser, providing the printing for one of the cornerstones of the event – the Wall of Memories (pictured above)! This impressive installment featured postcards and photos printed by TPH, sharing stories, memories and the beautiful faces of walker’s loved ones. In addition to the photo wall, members of the TPH team were also in attendance to support the walk and showcase our 3D printing technology.
The event saw a great turnout, with teams and walkers joining together to support each other in the fight to end Alzheimer’s disease. Among the top fundraisers was Dr. David Shaul, who raised $20,000 alone! TPH had the pleasure of creating a custom 3D printed selfie for Dr. Shaul (see below), which we had on display at our booth during the walk.
Our 3D selfies are a unique way to capture your special moments and memories as a timeless keepsake for years to come. You can read more about these personalized figurines on our website.
The fundraising goal for the Walk for Memories was $600,000 – a goal that was surpassed for a total of $640,000! If you didn’t have a chance to participate in the event, you can still donate to the cause until February 16th on the Alzheimer’s Society of Toronto website.
